Bio Energy of Colorado, LLC is owned by Bio Energy of America (BEA). BEA has a 20 million gallon annual current capacity in two biodiesel plants operating in Denver and Commerce City, Colorado. Soybean oil is used as the primary feedstock. BEA is expected to open a 60 million gallon plant in New Jersey in early 2007.

BioFuels of Colorado currently operates a 10 million gallon annual production capacity plant and is expected to open a 5 million gallon annual production capacity plant in Denver. Most of the company's Mountain Gold Biodiesel is sold exclusively to fuel distributors and used primarily by the military, municipal trucking and school bus fleets, and over-the-road transportation firms. BioFuels of Colorado uses only virgin soy oil to produce its biodiesel.

The AgSTAR Program is a voluntary effort jointly sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Department of Energy. The program encourages the use of methane recovery (biogas) technologies at the confined animal feeding operations that manage manure as liquids or slurries.
