Allegro Biodiesel Corporation produces and sells biodiesel fuel. In addition, the company plans to develop biodiesel production facilities and distribution assets in the United States. The company owns an operating biodiesel fuel production facility located in Pollock, Louisiana which uses renewable agricultural-based feedstock (primarily soybean oil) to produce biodiesel. Construction of the Pollock Facility was completed in early 2006 and is currently estimated to be capable of producing twelve million gallons of biodiesel per year.

The AgSTAR Program is a voluntary effort jointly sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Department of Energy. The program encourages the use of methane recovery (biogas) technologies at the confined animal feeding operations that manage manure as liquids or slurries. These technologies reduce methane emissions while achieving other environmental benefits.

EnSave is currently working with the Acadiana RC&D to provide audits to farmers enrolled in the Renewable Energy and Conservation Pilot Project in Louisiana. To date, three farms involved in poultry, rice and crawfish production have received energy audits. Their audits focused on irrigation and grain drying practices, and included suggested upgrades that would improve the energy efficiency of their operation without compromising their productivity. EnSave supports the American agricultural sector with innovative energy efficiency and resource conservation solutions. EnSave's clients include state and federal energy and environmental agencies, investor-owned utilities, and rural electric cooperatives.

DSIRE is a comprehensive source of information on state, local, utility, and federal incentives that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency. DSIRE is an ongoing project of the North Carolina Solar Center and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.

REAP offers grants and loan guarantees to farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses, to help them purchase renewable energy systems or make energy efficiency improvements. USDA Rural Development administers the REAP program, and potential applicants are encouraged to contact the Louisiana State Energy Coordinator. REAP is a continuation of the program formerly known (prior to 2008) as "Section 9006" or the "Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency Improvements Grant Program."
