The new facility is poised to crush 21,000,000 bushels of soybeans per year. The soybean oil can yield 30,000,000 gallons of biodiesel. Martin Machinery first entered the biogas industry in 1982, at which time they designed and built an 850 kW paralleling switch gear to parallel an induction generator to the utility. Additionally, the company supplied four 350 kW, one 100 kW, and one 50 kW biogas electric generator systems. Since the 1980s, the company has continued work on its Custom Designed Paralleling Switch Gear, making several updates as new technology became available. The company currently custom designs new and rebuilt electric generator systems to operate using biogas and services biogas units powered with engines from 460 cubic inch to 7,040 cubic inch engine blocks.

The AgSTAR Program is a voluntary effort jointly sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Department of Energy. REAP offers grants and loan guarantees to farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses, to help them purchase renewable energy systems or make energy efficiency improvements. USDA Rural Development administers the REAP program, and potential applicants are encouraged to contact the Missouri State Energy Coordinator.
