The AgSTAR Program is a voluntary effort jointly sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Department of Energy. REAP offers grants and loan guarantees to farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses, to help them purchase renewable energy systems or make energy efficiency improvements. USDA Rural Development administers the REAP program, and potential applicants are encouraged to contact the South Carolina State Energy Coordinator. REAP is a continuation of the program formerly known (prior to 2008) as "Section 9006" or the "Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency Improvements Grant Program."
