Beginning Farmer Institute Offered in Minnesota
University of Minnesota Extension is planning to offer Minnesota Beginning Farmer Institute, a free, four-part course for beginning farmers in four different Minnesota locations and online over the course of the fall and winter. The course will use an interactive approach to learning about farm management topics and will cover topics such as business planning, taxes, record keeping and financial statements, grain marketing, and land rent. The course is designed for farmers at the beginning of their farming careers, whether starting a new operation or transitioning into an existing operation. Organizers say it will also be useful to those who’d like a farm business management refresher.
