Bulletin Introduces Basics of Farm Business Planning

Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) Outreach released a new bulletin, The Basics of Farm Business Planning, that introduces critical farm business planning concepts and processes. This approach to planning helps you identify and achieve long-term goals for yourself, your family, your business, and your land. The new bulletin offers a framework to help farmers clarify goals, evaluate resources, and build financially and ecologically sound enterprises. It introduces users to five essential planning steps: identify values; understand your farm’s history and current situation; define vision, mission, and goals; conduct strategic planning and evaluation; and present, implement, and monitor. The eight-page publication is available free, online.
