Permalink Cherry Grower Cooperative to Construct Value-Added Juice Plant

The Flathead Cherry Growers Association in Montana has announced a partnership with Tabletree Montana to construct a juice plant that will utilize culled and damaged fruit to produce juice and sauces, reports Ag Weekly. The 10 to 30% of cherry crops that was previously discarded or sold at a loss will now be used in a value-added product. The plant will produce high-quality juice utilizing a unique process and equipment developed by Canadian cherry farmers who founded Tabletree Enterprises. The plant will be located at the cooperative's existing warehouse and is expected to be operational in 2016.
