This past month saw the launch of The Butcher's Guild, a fraternity of meat professionals bound by oath to create a support system for their industry. The organization encourages every butcher to use only whole animals from local farms, and is hoping to rebuild an industry and have a spirit of inclusion. The organization promotes success of the butchers who are operating with integrity, as well as creating links for butchers working to improve their practices. The organization offers memberships for both consumers and professional butchers, as well as a website and blog.
