Permalink Mississippi NRCS Conservation Technical Assistance

The Mississippi State Office of the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service is seeking proposals from natural resource conservation partners that share a common interest in the conservation and restoration of natural resources throughout Mississippi. These proposals will provide technical assistance for outreach, education, technology, and/or engineering with a focus on the newest technology and most up-to-date methods for implementing best management practices, developing novel, cutting-edge proposals to meet conservation goals, and delivering service in the most efficient, economical way. Cooperative agreements range from $75,000 to $275,000.
Applications are due by July 30, 2018.

Permalink Rural Cooperative Development Grant Program

The Rural Cooperative Development Grant program helps improve the economic condition of rural areas by helping individuals and businesses start, expand, or improve rural cooperatives and other mutually owned businesses through Cooperative Development Centers. Nonprofit corporations and institutions of higher education are eligible to apply for matching grants of up to $200,000 to develop and operate a Rural Cooperative Development Center.
Applications are due online by July 24, 2018, or in hard copy by July 30, 2018.

Permalink Risk Management Education Partnership Program

USDA Risk Management Agency is accepting applications for up to $4.16 million in Risk Management Partnership cooperative agreements. This program supports the delivery of crop insurance education and risk management training to U.S. agricultural producers to assist them in identifying and managing production, marketing, legal, financial, and human risk. The program gives priority to: (1) educating producers of crops currently not insured under Federal crop insurance, specialty crops, and underserved commodities, including livestock and forage; and (2) providing collaborative partnerships to develop and deliver crop insurance education and other risk management training. Non-profit organizations, state agencies, and colleges and universities are eligible to apply.
Applications must be received by July 30, 2018.

Permalink Socially Disadvantaged Groups Grant

USDA Rural Development is accepting applications for the Socially Disadvantaged Groups Grant program, which provides technical assistance to socially disadvantaged groups through cooperatives and Cooperative Development Centers. Cooperatives and Cooperative Development Centers are eligible to apply for a maximum of $175,000 to provide technical assistance to socially disadvantaged groups in rural areas. This assistance can include feasibility studies, business plans, strategic planning, and leadership training.
Applications are due by July 24, 2018, if submitted online and by July 30, 2018, if submitted in hard copy.
