USDA NRCS is accepting applications for Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) in Maine. Up to $250,000 will be available to stimulate the local development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches and technologies. Proposals are requested from eligible governmental or non-governmental organizations, or individuals, for competitive consideration of grant awards. Projects will be between one and three years in duration. For Fiscal Year 2018, NRCS will consider offering CIGs in the following areas: Forestry, Aquatic Organism Conservation, Soil Health, and Pollinator Conservation. The maximum award amount for any project will not exceed $75,000 in this fiscal year; CIG grants can cover up to 50% of total project cost.
Proposals must be received by April 16, 2018.
