Permalink UMN New & Innovative Crops Forum

June 26, 2017
St. Paul, Minnesota

The U of M Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships welcomes researchers, culinary professionals, chefs, food processors, farmers, and producers to a new and exciting public forum highlighting U of M-developed and improved specialty crops. This is the first of four public forums to share the latest UMN research and development of a wide range of crops that are in development or ready for production. The June 26 forum will feature panels on two U of M-researched specialty crops: day-neutral strawberries and hybrid hazelnuts. Each panel includes 1) a UMN researcher working on the crop, 2) a producer growing the crop, and 3) a processor and/or a food professional who is sourcing and preparing the crop. The discussion will highlight successes and challenges associated with integrating new UMN crops onto the landscape and into the supply chain.
