Permalink Monarch Habitat Field Days on Farms

Join the Xerces Society and Monarch Joint Venture for an afternoon of hands-on demonstrations, activities, and informational sessions about installing and managing native habitat for monarchs and other wildlife on farms. Topics covered include site selection and site prep methods for native plantings, seed mix design, planting methods, habitat management, native plant ID, evaluating and monitoring plant establishment, monarch biology and conservation, Farm bill programs and funding opportunities for farmers, and additional benefits of habitat to wildlife and humans.

Permalink Texas Sheep and Goat Expo

August 18-19, 2017
San Angelo, Texas

The statewide Texas A&M AgriLife event is one of the largest sheep and goat programs in the world. It begins with a field day that touts topical information stemming from work done at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center. The expo features an educational program as well as new features this year: a session on Angora goats, a major youth component and sheep performance data instruction, as well as a sale of performance-tested rams.
