University of Florida IFAS Extension offers an opportunity to learn aquaculture basics: how systems work from cycling to siphons to fish, to grow media, to plants and plumbing with pump sizing. Also, participate in a hands-on construction of an ebb-and-flow system.

Permalink Chicken Processing Workshop

Participants will learn how to slaughter and process broiler chickens by hand in small batches on the farm. Participants will also see and discuss mobile chicken coop options. The day-long, hands-on workshop is taught by Doug Havemann, Army Veteran and Co – Owner of Mesquite Field Farm, and Kevin Ellis, NCAT Poultry Specialist.

The Forum is a community gathering and resource day focused on growing, eating fresh, and healthy living, presented by Sunburst Unlimited and Great Falls College MSU, with the MSU Master Gardener Program. It includes classes, documentaries, educational activities for kids, and more. Admission is free; some classes have a fee.
