California Livestock Enteric Methane Emission Reduction Research Program

Proposals are due November 1, 2023.
California Department of Food and Agriculture is accepting proposals for its new 2023 Livestock Enteric Methane Emission Reduction Research Program. The California Budget Act of 2022 provided $9.5 million to fund demonstration trials evaluating additives and dietary modifications that could potentially reduce enteric methane emissions in the dairy and livestock sectors. The methane reduction research program will award competitive grants to universities (with or without a private partnership), non-profit research organizations, and California Native American Tribes.
