Internship Details:

We are seeking an intern for the 2020 growing season. This is a wonderful opportunity for somebody interested in small scale, organic agriculture and would like to immerse themselves in a hands-on educational experience. Responsibilities will include all aspects of the farm including, but not limited to: greenhouse seeding and watering, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, washing and processing orders, deliveries, attending farmers markets, feeding and watering animals, etc. There is freedom to explore what aspects interest and appeal to you and responsibilities may be directed towards your personal interests.

Internship will provide an opportunity for individual to learn various aspects of organic farming including seed sourcing, fertilization methods, harvesting methods, livestock care, and marketing directly to consumers.

Educational Opportunities: Educational opportunities are mainly through hands on experience. We have an extensive book collection that interns are welcome to borrow from. There may also be opportunities to visit other local farms for day trips, as well as any conferences or relevant local events.

Skills Desired: Applicants must be in good physical health and able to lift 50 pounds. Must have a willingness to learn and ability to receive constructive criticism. Good communication skills as well as honesty and respect are necessary. Ability to maintain a positive attitude.

Meals: Food is provided from the farm as well as some staple items such as bread, cooking oil, rice and beans. Shared family meals occasionally.

Stipend: $600/monthly stipend plus food from the farm and housing.

Housing: Trailer camper on farm is available for housing.
