2021 intern feedback:

We are a small 10 person CSA farm. This internship is season long and geared towards a workshare and skill trade. Intern works 12hr/week plus extra time for training opportunities. Our works days are Sunday 8am-4pm and one weekday 3pm-7pm. Our approach is geared towards an incubator type farm focusing on marginalized customers. Interns should be early to midway in the farming and gardening learning curves.

Educational Opportunities: Tractor maintenance and safety Soil fertility and testing Solomon approach to remineralization fertilizer: procurement, mixing, application Seed selection Planting tracking. Customer interaction Organic certification Produce cultivation, harvest, wash, presentation Wheel hoe, hori hori, tractor tilling, potato-shovel, ripping, plow AirBNB operation Dairy Goats and livestock guardian dog operation Chickens operation Work with marginalized customers: food stamps, youth serving community hours

Skills Desired: Beginners ok. Advanced farmer probably would not be interested. Due to COVID we asked our interns last year to wear masks when in the commons space and with post harvest work.

Meals: We will share meals when possible!

Housing: We have a glamping tent with running water, stove, fridge, and pots/pans. and a barn bathroom with clawfoot tub and hot water.
