General Farm Description: Bellair Farm is a beautiful, 900 acre farm located in scenic southern Albemarle County, Virginia, near Charlottesville. The farm is home to our vegetable operation as well as a sheep dairy and a beef cattle operation.CRAFT Member Farm? Yes

Internship Details:
We are hiring hourly compensated farm workers to work with us on our vegetable crew. We are a 23-acre, 330-member organic certified vegetable CSA located on historic Bellair Farm. Our CSA members select their share market-style from a variety of veggies offered. Members choose between multiple in-town and on-farm pickup options. Our business is a big, bustling one full of unexpected events, drop-in visitors and volunteers, and plenty of hard work. Please contact us with your resume for more information.
Educational Opportunities: We will have dozens of hours of paid work time devoted toward training and educational activities like reviewing the farm's budget. In addition, we will pay $100 annually toward each full time worker's educational workshop or conference of their choice.
Skills Desired: Qualifications include • Ability to handle physically strenuous, repetitious tasks in all weathers. Specifically, ability to repetitively lift and carry 60 pounds. Ability to work bending over for hours at a time each day. • We work fast, so crew members should possess the ability to work quickly, and desire to learn to work faster. • Good communication skills, sense of humor, upbeat attitude. • Detail-oriented. • A valid driver’s license. • Farming experience is a plus, but not required.
Meals: All the vegetables and eggs each crew member can eat are provided free. There is also a discount on meat and other farm products. No prepared meals are provided.
Stipend: Compensation: will start at $10-11 an hour depending on experience. Employees also receive all the eggs and vegetables they can eat, sick time and vacation time, a discounted rate on farm products like meat and apparel, and $100 towards educational workshops of their choice.
