Internship information
General Farm Description: Bellair Farm is a beautiful, 900 acre farm located in scenic southern Albemarle County, Virginia, near Charlottesville. The farm is home to our vegetable and livestock operation as well as a sheep dairy and a beef cattle operation. We are a 23-acre, 330-member certified organic vegetable CSA located on historic Bellair Farm. We raise 60 hogs a year, and have a large flock of laying hens; both in pasture based rotational systems. Every year we are doing our best to improve our work life, lift up our employees, and give back to our soil. We manage multiple locations where CSA Members pick up their share, either in town or on farm. We participate in several weekly farmers markets where we do pre-order and walk up sales. Our business is a big, bustling one full of unexpected events, drop-in visitors and volunteers, and plenty of hard work. We have continued to operate safely amid the pandemic and are excited to keep serving our community by providing high-quality nutrient dense foods. We greatly value diversity, honesty, transparency, resiliency, and positivity.
