General Farm Description: With 2.5 acres of land, our farm has been growing over 200 different varieties of vegetables and educating families on local agriculture through farm-related programming since 2010. We are Certified Naturally Grown (CNG), MAEAP (Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program) Certified, and a part of Slow Food of West Michigan (SFWM). We make maple syrup, grow produce for a CSA and to sell produce at the Fulton Street Farmer's Market.CRAFT Member Farm? No

Internship Details:
This position will be responsible for representing Blandford Nature Center at the Fulton Street Farmers Market selling produce grown on our small farm that is committed to organic and holistic food production. In addition, this position will assist the Farm Manager with all aspects of the vegetable production and harvesting at the Blandford Nature Center farm. This position will be Tuesday-Saturday.
Responsibilities:
Manage the Blandford’s farmers market stall (including regular attendance at the stall)
Process cash and credit transactions from produce sales
Create and maintain a positive experience for market customers and CSA members
Assist with vegetable production including propagation and cultivation
Assist with field work maintenance including weeding, transplanting, trellising, and pruning
Harvest, clean and pack vegetables for distribution
Assist with preparation for winter vegetable growing
Other duties assigned by the Farm Manager

Stipend: This is a paid, non-exempt, full time, seasonal position paying $10.50 an hour. This position will be for 26 weeks, 40 hours per week and qualifies for paid holidays and a Blandford Nature Center Family Membership.
