Seasonal Vegetable Production Farmer
The seasonal vegetable production farmer will join a dedicated team of farmers to participate in raising vegetables from seed to harvest. We have over 12 acres in production, two high tunnels for year round production and a new wash and packing facility. We use cultivating tractors, water wheel transplanters, root harvesters and other equipment that helps us remain efficient. Cover cropping, soil tests and a fertility program helps keep our soils healthy and balanced. We are striving to create the most healthful food we can donate to those in need.

Educational Opportunities: Farmers will work 45 to 50 hours/week with our full-time farmers on every aspect of production, and will also have the opportunity to attend workshops off the farm to support their professional development in organic agriculture.

Applicants should possess the ability and desire to work hard in both an independent and diverse team setting, often in adverse weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 40lbs. Must have a valid driver’s license. Ability to complete all field work tasks, and a willingness to be flexible team players and contribute wherever needed throughout the season; willingness and desire to work until the job is done, working overtime if necessary throughout the peak of the season. Previous farm experience is a plus. Applicants should also have the self-motivation to strive towards completing tasks quickly and efficiently. Good people skills and the willingness to work with volunteers are important.
