Yes
Internship Starts: April 1
Internship Ends: Nov 10
Number of Internship Available: 4
Application Deadline: rolling
Minimum Length of Stay: 1 month
Internship Details:
Exchange housing, food, weekly stipend, and a unique educational experience for ~23 hrs a week on the farm. Work time includes preparation of community meals, and time for group meetings and farm-education sessions, and various field-trips to our partner farms. Schedule includes plenty of time for other part-time work and/or personal pursuits, and there are always extra work opportunities presenting themselves.
Interns will experience all aspects of running a very productive, no-till & hand-scale market garden. Also, you’ll be welcomed into our Clove Valley family and exposed to a much wider community of amazing farmers and friends.
You’ll be helping grow seedings, veggies, herbs, and flowers for the Woodstock Farm Market, our farm family, and our local friends and neighbors.
Educational Opportunities: Since this apprenticeship is an educational exchange vs. farm job, an emphasis is placed on variety of activities and learning opportunities vs. straight productivity. We will be taking many field-trips to our neighbor and partner-farms:). And because Clove Valley's internship program places a high priority on personal development and community-building, our activities are often geared toward holistic health of the soil, our farm family, and the greater community. We prioritize the success of the business, and are never too busy to take good care of ourselves, never too busy to make and share delicious meals with the veggies we produce, and never too busy to grow flowers just for the pollinators and the pleasure of looking at them.
Skills Desired: Ideal interns have had enough experience to know they are truly interested in and love farming. Some applicants may in theory like the idea of working on a farm, but in reality find the lifestyle to rugged. However, we love offering people new experiences, and education is a primary mission of the farm.
