Internship information
General Farm Description: Cure Organic farm is a woman-owned, certified organic, commercial, diversified family farm, growing over 100 varieties of vegetables, herbs, berries, and specialty cut flowers on public and private land. We rotationally graze a flock of laying hens, laying ducks and heritage pigs. We have produce, meat and eggs available for sale 50 weeks of the year. Our main markets include the Boulder County Farmers Markets, our Community Supported Agriculture program, Boulder, Lafayette and Denver restaurants, and our farm stand. We host tours and field trips to teach groups about agroecology, organic food production and sustainable systems on the farm. Our staff is a team of aspiring new farmers enrolled in our internship program, which offers in the field, hands on training, as well as an introduction to farm business management. Anne Cure started the farm in 2005.

Internship Details:

Our Farm Stand team is responsible for all daily farm stand operations. This includes customer service, setting up and taking down of farm stand, assisting in CSA distribution, post harvest handling and packaging, flower bouquet making and more.

A positive attitude, love of good food, and attention to detail is critical. Preference will be given to candidates who can commit to the full growing season. Please consider this commitment before applying.

Season: Daily April-November, open for business 12-5pm.

Pay: $13/hr with a weekly produce share and a discount on our meat

Schedule: 7 to 8 hour shifts, both weekdays and weekends available.

Status: Part time positions are available

Currently hiring for Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday shifts. 10:30am to 5:30pm.

Farm Stand attendants’ are responsible for all daily farm stand operations. Responsibilities includes:

Opening farm stand, setting up dry goods display.

Setting up vegetable, fruit, flower and herb displays.

Watering and restocking nursery stock plants.

Assisting customers, conducting point of sale transactions.

Assisting in CSA and herd share distribution

Washing, bagging and preparing all produce for sale.

Keeping stand stocked, clean, organized and shoppable. Preparing back stock.

Answering customer questions about the farm and all of the goods we sell.

Closing the stand at the end of the shift

Weekly Schedule Details

Farm work varies based on the season, but below is an outline of a typical weekly schedule:

Daily Start: April – November this work day begins at 10:30am.

Breaks: We take lunch around noon.

Daily End: The farm stand closes at 5pm to customers. It usually takes about an hour to close the stand, clean up and return all produce, etc to the walk-in cooler in the wash station.

Two people work each shift at the farm stand, daily. ​

We are currently hiring for this position and would like applicants to commit to staying through the growing season which ends in November. .

Qualifications

We are looking for positive, reliable, responsible, and hardworking individuals who have a great sense of humor and are able to follow directions and communicate well with others. Attention to detail is critical and a passion for food essential. You must be able to work whole shifts at the farm stand on your scheduled work day from 10:30am-6pm. Preference given to applicants who can work 2 or more days a week.

You must also be a team player, punctual, and enjoy working directly with customers. This is an outdoor market stand. You must be able to work in both the heat of summer and the chill of spring and fall.

Must be in good physical condition and able to lift 50 pounds (squash and potatoes are heavy!).

The farm is a non-smoking, drug free environment.
