Field works:
Daily observations in the field, walking along the row and beds of plants is a learning experience. Plunging a pitchfork into the compost pile every day is a learning experience.

Consider life on a farm to be a totally immersive learning experience. We are all learning everyday, by paying attention to the plants, animals, fungi and microbes around us.

An intern here has self discipline to study and research the topics they are more drawn to. The lessons of the farm are taught by hands on experience with the various crops, in the field, in the kitchen, at market, in the fermentation tanks. A typical week includes:
Monday morning meet
AGENDA board is posted to include agenda items.
Sunday evening, agenda for the monday meeting is posted on the agenda boards and emailed out to all staff and interns.
Every other week, we have longer meetings to have reports made on
Compost, Animal health, Crops, Greenhouse, Farmstand, Fruit trees, Wild edibles,Flowers, Community,Markets, Ferments
A typical daily schedule – 6 days a week
Monday: 8am meeting
2-7pm Jar
Tuesday: Harvest, prep, banchans
Wednesday 11-8pm Woodstock Farm Festival, banchans and dumplings.
6-4 Field
Thursday 6-4 Kimchi making, everyone
Friday 6-4 Harvest, packshed, farmstand
Saturday 6-3pm Kingston Farmers market or Pakatakan Farmers Market 9-1pm
Sunday OFF
Housing is a shared room with other intern in a two bedroom little house, includes, kitchen, bathroom, laundry. the other bedroom is mom’s, and she is at market Friday thru Monday.


Educational Opportunities: fermentation of vegetable for kimchee and fermentation of organic matters for field teas.

Skills Desired: Preferably someone with an earth first ethic and understanding or willingness to learn good timing in both the kitchen and field.
