General Farm Description: Potomac Vegetable Farms is a well-established farm located in the vibrant farming community of Loudoun County, Virginia. We are committed to sustainable and ethical farming practices, fostering a sense of community among our employees, farmworkers, and families. We are currently seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our team for a temporary farm construction project involving the renovation of worker housing, including a second-story addition.CRAFT Member Farm? Farm Construction Team Member
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with a construction team to complete various renovation tasks, including carpentry, roofing, framing, drywall installation, and other construction-related activities. We will build a second- story addition to an existing dwelling. Assist with demolition and removal of existing structures. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in construction, carpentry or related tasks is preferred.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and follow instructions of supervisors.
Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in construction work.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work.
Physical stamina to perform tasks that may include heavy lifting, balance.
– Hourly wage: $15 – $20 per hour, commensurate with experience.
– Housing provided: Accommodation will be available in the house being renovated, separate from the section being worked on.
– Potential for extension: The temporary position has the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.
– Learning opportunity to be part of an experienced team conducting a creative renovation
– Full-time hours: An average of 40 hours per week, allowing for a consistent income.
– Possibility for supplemental labor on the farm
