Internship information
General Farm Description: Small organic CSA with pigs, chickens (and in October - sheep). We practice no-till "hand agriculture" with permanent beds.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is interested in pursuing farming as a career and wants to see the full ins and outs from start to finish for a small CSA farm with animals. No experience necessary.


  • Ability to lift 30 pounds

  • Ability to partake in physically active farm tasks

  • Positive, friendly attitude

  • Respectful and kind to everyone. Full stop. Non-negotiable.

  • Clear, proactive communicator

  • Ability to do some things independently (with direction and support of course!) 

Desired Qualifications (but not necessary!):

  • Love eating food and/or cooking

  • Love being outside

  • Like to laugh

  • Play or enjoy music

  • Enjoy pondering and discussing the mystery and beauty of existence

  • Want to practice language learning with us (we are learning Spanish, French, and German)!


  • Private guest bedroom with a queen bed (you will share a bathroom with one other person and any WWOOFers or other guests).

  • All food for the summer (with the only exceptions being certain “luxury” items like booze or if we all go out to eat).

  • A monthly or end of the year lump sum stipend

  • An amazing fitness regimen of various farm tasks 🙂

  • Guided “classroom” style learning as requested (including off-season tasks that might not happen while you are here).

  • Training on every aspect of how we run the farm. 

  • Fully open books — we will sit down and show you everything about how our farm economics/business side of things “works” if you want, full transparency.

  • Access to lots of farm (and non-farm) books from our rather robust library.

  • Life-long mentorship.

  • Flexible schedule as long as you are communicative and we know in advance (this includes time off from the farm for a week or more if you want).

  • “Pick-your-focus” flexibility – will try to offer multiple options for what you do on the farm each day when possible (sometimes we have some “all-hands-on-deck” moments).

  • Walking distance to  Devil’s Lake State Park (Wisconsin’s most popular state park) and other great natural areas. Ability to borrow our kayak, canoe, or bike too!

  • 20 minute drive to Wisconsin Dells, home of many great unnatural areas, if that is more your thing! 

Educational Opportunities: In-field training on all aspects of the farm Classroom training as requested Will share every detail of the farm including all financials.
