General Farm Description: Global Organic Gardens is a 2.5 acre, hobby farm in Davie, Florida. We are an educational destination for the local community hosting school tours, summer camps, volunteer groups, etc. We grow a diverse polyculture of tropical fruit trees, annual and perennial vegetables, natives, and conventional ornamentals.

Internship Details:

The farm employs three full-time farmers and is looking for a four-person intern team. The internship runs 20-hours per person per week from September through April with wages from $8-12/hr based on experience.

Learning opportunities include (but are not limited to) general landscaping, weeding, pruning, cover crop & soil fertility management, direct seeding, transplanting, trellising, harvesting, post harvest handling, integrated pest management, compost maintenance, compost tea brewing & application, assisting on building projects, etc.

There is no on site housing so interns must be local or find their own accommodations and have their own form of transportation. Additionally applicants must submit to a full background check.


Educational Opportunities: Learning opportunities include (but are not limited to) general landscaping, weeding, pruning, cover crop & soil fertility management, direct seeding, transplanting, trellising, harvesting, post harvest handling, integrated pest management, compost maintenance, compost tea brewing & application, assisting on building projects, etc. We will make time during the week for educational round table discussions on collectively determined Agro-ecological topics of interest. A few potential areas for discussion and exploration are native restoration, bioremediation, rainwater catchment, renewable energy, etc. This is a chance for us all to share, teach, and learn from each other’s interests, passions, and experiences.

Skills Desired: Previous farm experience is definitely a plus but not required.
