Assistant Farm Manager – This individual works closely with the Farm Manager to develop and lead farm staff in implementing JBG Organic’s annual crop production plan. Key duties include:
Assists in the development of weekly schedules for crop and greenhouse production
Maintain records of all inputs and farm production activities for organic certification and food safety requirements
Develop annual crop plan in cooperation with the farm manager and other key farm staff
Responsibilities include the ordering of all necessary seeds and farm inputs, as well as managing the inventory of existing supplies.
Assist the Farm Manager in planning and executing the daily-operations of the farm including: conducting morning meetings with staff, assigning work duties and day to day operations
Educational Opportunities: This is a full-time, paid position. There are multiple opportunities for education.
Skills Desired: Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree Advanced Excel knowledge Excellent judgment in prioritizing responsibilities and delegating tasks Excellent organizational ability and judgement in prioritizing responsibilities Excellent communication and team-building skills Preferred 3-5 years experience working in agriculture Bi-lingal (English and Spanish) speaker Experience in planning and management
