General Farm Description: Because of our short growing season, with cold winters and hot summers, we have built a geothermal-climate greenhouse to grow vegetables throughout the year. We also farm an additional one acre. There is always something exciting to learn and experience. We sell our produce at our farm stand and at two Farmer's Markets in the area. Internship Details:
We are looking for hard-working people who want to get into the hands-on experience of farming on a cash-crop farm. Candidates are expected to work 6 hours/day, 5 days a week in exchange for room, and prepared meals Monday-Friday. Food stables and vegetables are available for self-cooking. Free yoga and yogic lifestyle classes are available Monday-Friday if desired.
Educational Opportunities: All aspects of small-scale farming, in a geothermo greenhouse, grow tunnel, and fields, will provide incredible learning experience. Besides growing the vegetables, you will also learn food safety, harvesting, and sell at local farmer's markets.
Skills Desired: We welcome folks who are passionate about sustainable, regenerative agriculture and love to work hard to make it happen! We prefer folks who have some experience farming and know the basics of seeding, weeding, soil care, and harvesting. Also participate in sales at the Farmer's Market.
