Internship information
General Farm Description: At 2 acres in cultivation, we are an incredibly small and intimate farm. We farm without a four-wheel tractor, which means everything is done by hand, with simple tools, or with the help of our walking tractor. Think wheelbarrows, hoes, rakes, your two hands. We grow a diversity of crops but specialize in microgreens, salad greens, fresh roots, bunched greens, and greenhouse crops. While we sell wholesale to our local food coops and some restaurants, we grow primarily for our farmers markets and CSA program. We will be doing two farmers markets in peak season, along with a 125+ member CSA, and wholesale orders. The farm is located 10 minutes from downtown Olympia.

CRAFT Member Farm? No

Internship Starts: April
Internship Ends: Late November
Number of Internship Available: 2
Application Deadline: February 1
Minimum Length of Stay: Only full-season commitments will be considered.

Internship Details:

We are hiring two full-time, full-season, paid positions to fill out our team. Position #1 is a farm crew position, and position #2 is a farm crew + market lead position. Both positions will be involved in all aspects of on-farm work: planting, cultivating, harvesting, produce washing, weeding, cultivating, trellising, pruning, and more. Please see our website for full position details and to apply.

Educational Opportunities: Please note that while there are educational opportunities, this is a paid position - not an internship. Working alongside the farmers, you'll learn farm tasks by doing, with in-the-field training. We love sharing skills and knowledge, so ask questions and learn through experience and conversation! The full-season commitment will allow you to see the progression of the season and learn ebbs and flows of a successful small-scale farm. Our ideal applicants are those who want to become farmers!

Skills Desired: Previous farming experience preferred, but not required. Please see employment details on our website for required skills and background.

Stipend: This is a paid position. $16-$18/hour depending on experience + end of season bonus, & free vegetables.
