General Farm Description: We are a nonprofit reasearch and educational network of three faems (donating our harvest to address food insecurity) .We have a You Tube Channel with free viedeos of on all aspects of organic regenerative farming / gardening and resource resilience. Visiting ours website is a great way to get a sense of how we farm and what interns will be expierencing. We are focused on developing the tools and systems that will serve our future as cimate catastrophe worsens. As a network of three sites two of which integrate livestock and intensive grazing systems with fruit and vegetable production the other site a farmette using only hand and walkbehind tractor methods ,we offer a wider range of regerative farmering expierences than some other operations. arCRAFT Member Farm? Internship Details:
Ours interns work with our farmer team across our network (sites are closely situated) preforming evetually as competence is gained virtually all of the tasks required to run our diverse operation. On average interns work 40 hours a week over five days but the vagaries of the weather and farming needs means that some flexability with this sch3dule is required.
Educational Opportunities: CRAFT and a weekly meeting where interns can further explore the how and why of our methods. Also when possible while working our team welcomes questions and endeavoes to ensue that interns learn both the how and the why of our methods.
Skills Desired: Interns must be able to understand and follow directions and commit to not deviating from instructions with out consulting with and getting the approval of farm team member. Interns must be up to the physical rigors of farming wich includes the ability work in the heat and humidity of the Southeast
Meals: With the exception of an occasional farm team gettogether when we might fire up the pizza oven our roast a pig we don't provide meals but interns may avail themselves of the foods we produce on our farms
