General Farm Description: We are a small sustainable farm growing a wide variety of vegetables, small fruits, culinary and medicinal herbs using organic growing methods. We also produce value added herbal products and host/teach workshops on herbal medicine. In business for over 35 years selling thru local Farmer's Markets, to our co-op, local restaurants, and regional herbalists.CRAFT Member Farm? Yes

Internship Details:
Our season runs Feb/March thru November with the possibility of working year round or long term with us. Our Farm Crew works in all aspects of our business including seeding, transplanting, weeding, plant, field and farm maintenance, mulching, staking and trellising, harvesting, cleanup and herb processing. Some folks may also work at our Farmer’s Market. We work 4 days on farm and 1 day at our 2 markets. Hours are typically 8-5pm in Spring & Fall, and 7:30-4:30pm in Summer. We have a 1hr mid-day break for our yoga session (paid) and lunch (unpaid).

Educational Opportunities: Learn about successful small scale production farming and herbal medicine while on the job. Crew members also have the opportunity to join our on-site workshops.
Skills Desired: -Hardworking, dedicated, self motivated with a good work ethic -Quick learner with attention to detail -Ability to work with a team and individually while maintaining a fast pace and efficiency -Physical and mental stamina and healthy endurance, ability to lift 30-50lbs comfortably and spend long periods of time kneeling, squatting or bending over -Previous farming experience is not required however we would prefer folks who have experience working outside jobs before
Meals: No, however crew members may take as much extra produce and herbs home as they can eat
Stipend: -Competitive hourly wage, subject to tax withholding.-Produce & Herbs to take home.-We have a group yoga session each day before lunch to help with mind and body balance. Farming is hard work and our Herbalist, Bodyworker, Yogi farm manager is here to help you be at your best health.
