Internship information
General Farm Description: Moose Meadow Farm is a small, year-round family farm owned by Katherine and Spencer Nietmann. Our children June and Ezra and our barn cats round out the family. Together with our crew we grow certified organic and Real Organic Project certified vegetables for local wholesale and retail markets. We specialize in year-round salad greens and microgreens production, using open field space, unheated high tunnels, and heated greenhouses. We also grow mixed vegetables and storage crops. Our sales are split between regional grocery stores and restaurants, and retail sales through a 100-family CSA membership program and a winter online marketplace. The farm is 1 acre and is worked using hand tools and very little mechanization (no tractor). Clark Fork is a quaint rural town of 500 people nestled in the beautiful, rugged Cabinet Mountains of North Idaho. It sits right on the Montana border and Glacier National Park is only a three hour drive away. There is abundant outdoor recreation right around the farm, and ample social and cultural opportunities in the nearby town of Sandpoint.
