Internship Details:

This Summer North Sky Farm is expanding our onsite creamery and we are looking for two full time team members. This position is perfect for someone who loves to spend time working outdoors, and doesn’t want to be stuck behind a computer screen. You’ll get to work with cows, learn about sustainable small-scale dairy farming, and learn about farmstead creamery design and expansion. Tasks vary widely on the farm, but generally include milking and cow care, building and equipment setup, and general farm chores (such as mowing feeding hay).  Many of the projects we’re working on this Summer involve construction, and setup of equipment since our big project is expanding our creamery. Looking for someone who likes working on a team, enjoys construction (or desires to learn about it), and likes working with animals.

Some great things about working here:

North Sky Farm is located right on the IL/WI state line. It’s a quick day trip into Chicago, IL by car or by commuter rail (which actually comes out to Harvard!). We’re very nearby beautiful Lake Geneva, WI, and just an hour from lots to do in Madison, WI.

Living in a camper on a rural farm and waking up to milk cows every morning feels good.

This position is Summer seasonal with flexible dates and a possibility to extend into the Fall/Winter.  Onsite housing is provided. Lunch and Dinner are provided during the workweek.

Educational Opportunities: In addition to being a farmer, Travis is a licensed contractor, so he always working on something around the farm. Combined we have decades worth of experience in sustainable farming. We've raised beef, pork, eggs, vegetables, and dairy over the years and LOVE to talk about farming. So if there is something specific you are looking to learn we will help facilitate it.
