Internship information

General Farm Description: We are an urban farm in Portland, Oregon and Longview, Washington. We are a high production market gardening with emphasis on salad greens. We also grown fruits, vegetables and raise ducks for eggs for farmers markets and restaurants.

Internship Details:

You will learn our process from seed to market by helping with soil health, bed prep, irrigation setup, seed planting, seed saving, weeding, transplanting, watering, pest abatement, harvesting, washing and packing. 30 hours per week.

Applicants who have experience or strong interest in farming as a career will be given preference.

Skills Desired: We are looking for someone who is physically fit, can safely lift 50 pounds, and can kneel, bend and stand for long periods of time. Someone who will follow directions and isn't too proud to be re-directed. Someone who is accountable, able to work independently and in group settings to get work done as quickly and efficiently as possible and is detail oriented and eager to learn. Someone who is capable of performing repetitive tasks with endurance and a positive attitude in all kinds of weather with good attention to detail, has emotional maturity and respect. Experience working outdoors in all weather conditions is a given.

Meals: We do not provide meals, but do provide food staples for meal prep in our shared kitchen.

Stipend: We will offer a small weekly stipend to be determined at the time of interview based on experience. Please note: Special days off will need to be discussed at the time of interview.

Housing: Yes, but not required. We have a small, private trailer for sleeping, and shared bathroom and kitchen in the main house.
