Internship Details:

We are currently seeking one additional crew member to join our five-person team for the 2023 season. In general, work days are 8-10 hours per day, and the work week is Monday to Friday. We don’t work weekends, although the possibility exists if you are interested.

Day to day tasks will shift over the course of the season: you’ll be involved in greenhouse operations, planting and weeding, harvesting, post-harvest handling, deliveries, and more. You can expect to have a broad experience while also delving deeply into specific projects. We start each morning with a quick meeting to discuss plans for the day and go over new elements. Work will vary from alone to working as a part of a small farm team. All crew members will have areas of responsibility, and we are happy to develop work that addresses specific areas of interest.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has at least one season of farming experience.

We are seeking crew members who are positive, self-motivated, curious, and driven to work efficiently, even through monotonous tasks and unpleasant weather.

Compensation

These positions are an hourly position at a rate of $16/hour. Returning employees will receive an annual raise. You are also welcome to harvest veggies for personal use from the farm.

We do not currently have housing available on-farm, but we are close to Kingston, a vibrant area with many housing options.

Educational Opportunities: This is not an educational internship, but rather an opportunity to directly learn the ins and outs of a small, diversified organic vegetable farm. We will teach crew members all the skills they will need here, and we fully expect (and hope!) that crew members will ask questions and strive to learn and develop.

Skills Desired: The ideal candidate has had at least a season working on a farm already. If not that, then at least experience working outdoors, in a similar work environment. farming can be a fast-paced job at times, and it's ideal that a successful applicant is ready to jump in and is comfortable with hard work.

Meals: We do not provide lunch, although we do all eat together during the lunch break.

Stipend: We offer an hourly wage of $16 per hour.

Housing: We unfortunately are not able to house crew members on farm, but we are close to the vibrant small city of Kingston, where housing can be found.
