Internship information
General Farm Description: Spring Creek Farm exists on 125 acres of beautiful, rolling farmland in Pennsylvania. We raise grass-fed beef and pastured chicken / eggs on 100 of those acres, and grow a variety of certified organic vegetables and flowers on another 7 acres for our 200+ member CSA and one offsite farmers market. Spring Creek operates according to sustainable, organic (some would say regenerative) standards and continually strives for harmony with nature. It is hard work, and we're honored to do it.CRAFT Member Farm? Yes
Internship Starts: April 1, 2022
Internship Ends: October 30, 2022
Number of Internship Available: 2
Application Deadline: March 2022

Internship Details:
Learn how our farm works from seed to distribution and gain experience with greenhouse work, planting, cultivation, pest and disease management, harvest, post harvest, and farm market operations. Our goal is to help you build a foundation of knowledge through practical experience, while balancing the demands of production and the need to be economically sustainable.
We work long hours, outdoors, in all weather – heat, humidity, cold, rain, snow. All applicants should be physically able to complete a season of farm work, know how to communicate clearly and with respect for others, and be motivated to work efficiently as a team *or alone.* Prior experience with farming, construction, or in restaurants is valuable, but not required. A cooperative nature and strong desire to explore farming as a career is a must.
Internships begin April 1 and end October 30, 2022. Working hours fluctuate with seasonal demands, but our average work week is 7am-5pm, 5 days/wk. Compensation includes $1,000/month stipend, plus communal on-site housing (includes utilities), unlimited “ugly” veggies and 20% discount on our beef and eggs.
This is a fantastic internship opportunity for anyone who really, truly wants to explore farming as a career. At the very least we can teach you how to become employee of the month, every month, on any farm. Join us in making a difference in our community, our soil, and our food! Email Hannah at info@springcreekfarm.com with your resume and a brief cover letter, and you will be sent a questionnaire
Educational Opportunities: We have a wealth of information in the library in the common area, and we will take field trips to tour other local, sustainable, small-farm operations during the season through CRAFT
