Internship information
General Farm Description: 1.5 acre farm growing vegetables, fruit, culinary herbs, and cut flowers for a CSA, two farmers markets and Nashville chefs. We utilize different growing techniques on different plots to include no till techniques in some plots and tractor based tillage in others. We grow organically and focus on soil health. Internship Details:

This is a full time, contract position making $12-$15 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Work on the farm is seasonal and tasks will vary greatly depending on the time of year, but will
likely include:
– Greenhouse (seeding, potting up, transplanting)
– Field work (weeding, planting, irrigation, etc)
– Harvesting (washing, packing, CSA support)
– Sales (deliveries and markets)
– Depending on experience and interest, could include field management tasks (operating
tractors and implements)
Requirements:
Applicants must be willing and able to lift heavy objects and work in all weather conditions
(cold/wet/hot). An ideal candidate is interested in working the full season and has experience
farming and/or a deep interest in agriculture and learning.
Hours vary depending on the season and typically range 40-50 hours per week. Some evening
and weekend hours are required to support with markets, these are shared responsibilities
which will rotate between all staff.


Educational Opportunities: We talk a lot about farming strategies as we work and I am usually available to answer questions during the day. We have informal crew meetings often and I'll teach a small class about once a month

Skills Desired: Ideally applicants would have some farming experience

Meals: No but you are welcome to harvest veggies from the fields for your lunches

Stipend: This is a paid contract position
