Internship Details:
We have an ultra flexible internship system this season. Our intern/interns will be required to work at least 30 hours a week. We can talk about the different variations of scheduling available but a good example of possible scheduling could look like
Mon-Thursday 7am-1pm (with possible farmers market Thursday 3-5); Friday: 7am til we are done harvesting; Saturday: farmers market 7-1. However we are flexible and can configure other schedules so long as the same hours are worked. We also have the possibility for some other work outside of the farm setting for additional pay if interested. We do not require our workers to work as long of days as many farms do but we expect our workers to work hard and efficiently while working. Interns will be involved in all aspects of our farm from seeding to weeding to harvesting including selling at markets. We do accept applications from couples willing to share a living space and are even willing to consider families with kids if they are the right fit. We have three children who will be a part of the daily life on our farm as well.
Educational Opportunities: We are friends with several local farms in the area and can do farm tours. We also attend a monthly land to table event where we discuss different topics on farming.
Skills Desired: We want our interns to be physically and mentally capable to handle the work involved, previous farming experience is not necessary but is a plus.
Meals: Food from the farm is available to interns at no cost at anytime and we will do a once a week joint dinner.
Stipend: We offer $150 a week, 5% of market sales when doing markets, free housing in our 12x20 tiny house, free food raised from the farm, with the possibility of additional income from other projects we may be working on.
Housing: Yes, we have a 12x20 tiny home available to live in.
