General Farm Description: Victory Garden is a family-owned and operated farm located 25 miles north of Medford in the beautiful Upper Rogue area of Southern Oregon. We are going into our 4th year of production. Using natural and sustainable farming methods we grow a wide variety of vegetables for market, a local CSA, and several restaurants. We operate on two farms and are currently looking for someone to help on our greenhouse site plus help with farming on our main farm.CRAFT Member Farm? No

Internship Details:
Work week schedule will consist of 8 hour days five days a week. (Weekends Off) Harvest days falling on Monday & Wednesday. Harvest day work will consist of but not limited to assisting with the harvesting of vegetables, washing, and packing of vegetables, organizing orders in cooler, prepping starts, and loading items into the work van. Greenhouse and farm work will consist of soil making, soil blocking, sowing seeds, transplanting, weeding, trellising, irrigation prep. Market Help if needed. Will definitely have an opportunity to attend so to learn all aspects of farming.
Educational Opportunities: Farm education will consist of hands-on learning, you will be participating in all aspects of farm work to allow for a full emersion of farm life. There are always projects to be done at the farm from light construction jobs to mechanical work on equipment. You will also have an opportunity to help in making farm products in the late summer/early fall.
Skills Desired: Above all, we are looking for interns with a strong work ethic meaning we expect you to work hard and give us your best efforts each workday. If you have worked on a farm before that would be preferred but if you have not then we expect you to be ready and open to learning what we have to teach. The work is hard and the days long but so rewarding. You must be able to work in all types of weather conditions. It rains a lot in the spring so be ready to farm in the mud (don't forget your muck boots), it also gets really hot in the summer but you can cool down by jumping in our creek or heading to the river nearby. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check.
Meals: No. Kitchen with all needed appliances provided so you can prepare your own meals. You will have access to farm produce, eggs, and meat from our farm. We will provide basic food staples such as legumes, flour, etc.
Stipend: Yes. A weekly stipend of $100 after completion of the two-week introductory period. $400 bonus for completing the full season.
Housing: Yes. Housing consists of a two-bedroom manufactured trailer. Will have own bedroom but must share common areas ( kitchen, living room, laundry) Housing will be shared with another intern.
