Internship informationGeneral Farm Description: Wild Hare Organic Farm is a certified organic farm, producing a mix of vegetables, fruit, herbs, flowers and eggs in the Puyallup River Valley, just five miles outside of downtown Tacoma. We are a family-owned farm, producing for a year-round CSA, farmstand, educational tours and direct restaurant sales. We grow on 12-15 acres, and typically employ 5-8 employees (part and full time) throughout the main growing season.

Application Deadline: Ongoing, until positions are filled
Minimum Length of Stay: 3 months, preferred
• All aspects of field production (seeding, transplanting, trellising, mulching, weeding and harvesting)
• Post-harvest handling, washing and packing
• Irrigation (drip, overhead and regular watering in propagation houses)
• Feeding chickens, gathering and washing eggs
• Mowing, trimming and pruning of perennial beds
• Engaging with customers and visitors to the farm
• Opportunities to work in the farmstand may be available
• Opportunities for leadership roles in these areas may be available

Stipend: • $16/hour starting wage, Paid Sick Leave (1 hour for every 40 worked) Washington State Paid Family Medical Leave and L&I Coverage. • Weekly Large CSA Share, plus additional free and discounted produce
