Internship information
General Farm Description: Wild Roots is a small farm at its beginning located in Germantown, NY, in the beautiful rolling hills and fertile fields of the Hudson Valley. Large gardens growing a wide range vegetables and the flower field are planted with many varieties of flowers using biodynamic methods. The cut flowers bouquets are sold at the weekend farmers markets . I have an eclectic dairy goat herd and a flock of hens are the animals on the farm. The goat milk is used in making artisan soap . The eggs are sold at the farmers markets . This is a no farm , no animals are killed for consumption. There are Spring and Summer workshops planned at the farm including, creative writing, soapmaking as well as yoga classes.

This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in a new farm in the beginning. All aspects of business will be explored.
Learning hands on about running a small farm .
Seeding, planting , weeding , harvesting vegetables large gardens . Greenhouse work.
Collecting/ washing packing eggs for farmers market. Running farm stand at various farmers markets on Saturdays.
Soapmaking. Packing orders, maintening website posts , social media posts, packing shipping online orders.
Fencing, small building projects. daily feeding and care of animals.researching grants/ funding.
Harvesting flowers , putting together bouquets for market, drying herbs and flowers for soaps and wreaths.


Educational Opportunities: Learning hands on about running a small farm . Soapmaking Growing vegetables and flowers using the regenerative methods of biodynamic farming..
