Educational Opportunities: We are quite flexible. We can teach High tunnel operation and maintenance for crops grown in a no-till organic method. I am currently trialing some Korean Natural Farming crop inputs. We will work with weeding, tomato propagation, fertilizing, drip irrigation, rainwater catchment systems, water conservation, and greywater recycling system, using natural amendments for soil, mulch, and cover cropping. We also have young fruit trees and berry bushes that need to be maintained. We can teach basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical wiring and using hand and power tools including the chainsaw, wood splitter, chipper, saw, compressor. We are still developing our farm so we have several projects we are working on including finishing the watershed, getter installation, outhouse rebuild, outdoor oven construction, fenced area and planting out apple trees.
Skills Desired: Basic carpentry and use of tools is a bonus but we are very willing to train.
Meals: We do provide meals flexible for breakfast and lunch, with family for dinner.
Stipend: We do not offer a stipend at this time. We do try to help with local activities, hiking, fishing, and sightseeing.
Housing: We have a camper available depending on schedule, a wall tent and a larger tent on tent platforms. We have water in the main house for showers 2 times per week, outhouse for visitor use.
