Actualmente, los guisantes de invierno se cultivan principalmente en el noroeste del Pac\u00edfico como cultivo de cobertura para agregar nitr\u00f3geno a los campos de los agricultores, para la alimentaci\u00f3n de animales dom\u00e9sticos y para atraer ciervos y otras especies de caza. Sin embargo, el ARS dice que los guisantes de invierno tienen mucho m\u00e1s valor potencial como ingrediente para alimentos humanos.
