In 2005, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and Walmart teamed up to establish the Acres for America program to conserve lands of national significance, protect critical fish and wildlife habitat, and benefit people and local economies. Acres for America provides urgently needed funding for projects that conserve important large-scale habitats for fish, wildlife, and plants through land acquisitions and perpetual conservation easements. Eligible applicants include nonprofit 501(c) organizations, state government agencies, local governments, municipal governments, Tribal governments and organizations, and educational institutions.
Applications are due by April 15, 2021.
