The California Department of Food and Agriculture is accepting applications for the Alternative Manure Management Program. The program provides financial assistance for the implementation of non-digester manure-management practices in California, which will result in reduced greenhouse gas emissions. There are two grant opportunities: an Incentives Program and Demonstration Projects. The Demonstration Projects opportunity, “Advancing Practices Farmer-to-Farmer,” will fund projects that demonstrate the implementation of alternative manure-management practices on California dairy and livestock operations. Projects may also develop educational materials, including websites or other educational delivery mechanisms that provide accurate, up-to-date, and independently verified information about effective practices and technologies that reduce methane from dairy and livestock manure management and/or assist producers in selecting management practices appropriate for their dairy or livestock operation(s).
Applications are due by March 27, 2020.
