Diversifying the Dairy: From Silvopasture to Market

December 21 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

January 21, 2020
Quaryville, Pennsylvania

During this midi-day PASA workshop, explore how Fiddle Creek Dairy—a pastured livestock farm that produces 100-percent grass-fed milk, yogurt, and cheese—has been working with Austin Unruh from Crow and Berry Land Management to develop silvopasture areas within their grazing paddocks. In addition to the environmental benefits, these tree plantings will offer more shade for the grazing herd, potentially produce more forage per acre, and eventually provide new potential products for Fiddle Creek to market. Learn how, since its beginning, Fiddle Creek has been working to diversify its dairy product line in response to the available market and demand.
