Join PASA and Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center to learn about American Ginseng, a native high-value medicinal crop that can be grown on your farm’s woodlands. Shaver’s Creek Plant Science Program Director Eric Burkhart will be sharing his extensive knowledge of ginseng and his research into cultivation and stewardship of wild populations. Topics will include identification and biology, forest based approaches to cultivation, marketing and profitability, and stewardship of existing crops or wild populations. The day will be divided between indoor slide presentations and outdoor field excursions to nearby forest.
