USDA Agricultural Marketing Service is accepting applications for the Local Food Promotion Program (LFPP). LFPP offers grant funds to support the development and expansion of local and regional food business enterprises to increase domestic consumption of, and access to, locally and regionally produced agricultural products, and to develop new market opportunities for farm and ranch operations serving local markets. Two types of project application are accepted under LFPP: planning grants and implementation grants. Eligible applicants include agriculture businesses, producer networks, local and tribal governments, nonprofit organizations, CSA networks, and food policy councils. Approximately $11.5 million will be available to fund applications under this solicitation, with planning grants ranging from $25,000 to $100,000 and implementation grants from $100,000 to $500,000. A 25% match is required.
