The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is accepting applications for Good Food Access Program Equipment and Physical Improvement Grants (GFAP). These grants increase the availability of and access to affordable, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food (including produce) for underserved communities in low- and moderate-income areas. Grants help grocery stores and small food retailers make physical improvements and purchase equipment (such as freezers and coolers) to stimulate sales of such foods. For-profit and non-profit grocery stores and small food retailers, such as corner stores, convenience stores, farmers markets, mobile food markets, and retail food outlets operated by an emergency food program or food hub may apply for grants up to $50,000.
Applications are due by February 13, 2020.
