Expanding Agroforestry Production & Markets for Producer Profitability and Climate Stabilization

Applications from the Upper and Lower Midwest are due December 15, 2023.
The Nature Conservancy and regional partners are accepting applications from producers in the Upper and Lower Midwest for incentive payments for planting new agroforestry systems. Funding of $60 million for the five-year Expanding Agroforestry Production & Markets for Producer Profitability and Climate Stabilization project was provided by USDA’s Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities initiative. Producers must follow NRCS Conservation Practice Standards for installing alley cropping, silvopasture, and windbreaks. Payments include installation costs or per-tree costs, plus a per-acre transition incentive.
